The photo is from years ago so I’m sure I don’t remember specifically. But once upon a time laundry machines would only accept cash, meaning that once a month or so I would go downtown to get several rolls of quarters at a bank and would combine that errand with another, typically a visit to the Harold Washington Library but always somewhere with a public restroom as getting there and back without a geezerly “accident” was a 50/50 proposition.
I do miss the library, as sad as the Chicago Public Library system is…
